Master's Programs and Requirements

๐Ÿ“ General Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum GPA of 2.67 on a 4.0 scale, from an institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

  • International Transcripts: Must be evaluated by an independent service such as World Evaluation Services (WES) before submission to ETU.

  • Internet Access is required for all students.

Provisional Enrollment

Students who do not initially meet the requirements may be admitted on a provisional, course-by-course basis, with the approval of the department chair. They must maintain a GPA of 2.67 (B-) in their first 3 graduate courses and any prerequisites to gain full enrollment status.


๐Ÿ” Program-Specific Requirements

  • MSCS:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.

    • Proficiency in C or C++ programming and discrete mathematics.

  • MSIS:

    • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Management, or a related field.

    • 2 years of work experience in information systems and/or business operations is preferred.

  • MBA:

    • Students may enroll in a single course or up to four courses per year.


๐Ÿ’ป Required Proficiencies (All Programs)

  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browser software.

  • Proven college-level proficiency in written English.


โœ… Graduation Requirements

  1. Complete 39 credit hours.

  2. Maintain an overall GPA of 2.67.

  3. No more than two courses with a grade of C+ (2.33) or lower are permitted. All others must be B- (2.67) or higher.

  4. Mandatory Orientation Course:

    • OR100-ETU Compass (3 credit hours) for new full-time students.

    • 1-hour orientation course for course-by-course students.

  5. No credit is awarded for work or life experience at the master's level.

  6. Undergraduate prerequisites may be required for some students.

Academic Probation:

  • Students with a GPA below 2.67 in the first 12 credit hours will be placed on academic probation.

  • Remaining on probation for 6 consecutive months may result in termination of enrollment.


โฑ๏ธ Study Format and Pace

  • MSCS and MSIS: Self-paced courses. Minimum of 12 credit hours every 12 months.

  • MBA: Each course must be completed within 12 weeks. Minimum of 12 credit hours every 12 months.


๐Ÿ”„ Transfer Credits

  • Up to 12 credit hours may be transferred from other institutions.

  • Transfer requirements:

    • Official transcripts.

    • Course syllabus and description.

    • Acceptance is subject to review by the Admissions Committee.
